Our team has a passion for structuring diversified equity investments and traveling the world to beautiful and exotic locations. Equity Residences was born from these dual passions and pursuits.
Greg Salley, Managing Director: Greg is an experienced investor, management executive and consultant. He successfully launched and grew the Equity Villa Fund for the benefit of over 100 investors from around the world. Prior to his career as a real estate investor, Greg had executive management experience in private equity, business development, business strategy and mergers & acquisitions; both US and international. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an A.T. Kearney alum. Greg is also an experienced world traveler having lived in London, Paris, Nice, Sydney and Singapore and traveled to more than 30 countries across the globe. Greg combined his passions of real estate, investment management and traveling to launch Equity Residences.
John Long, Managing Director: John’s passion for traveling and making smart investments resulted in the launch of Equity Residences and the successful growth of the Equity Villa Fund. He is an avid world traveler visiting 40 countries in 40 years and is on his way to 50+ countries by his 50th birthday. John has almost 20 years experience in management, consulting, and private equity. John holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a Bachelors of Science from Rice University. John began his post-MBA career at McKinsey & Company and since then has advised companies on growth strategies, mergers &acquisitions, and new ventures as Managing Director of Table Rock Ventures. When he is not traveling for work or play looking for good investment opportunities, John splits time between homes in San Diego, CA and Austin, Texas.

Subsequently, he launched The Phillips Club in Manhattan, the country’s first urban residence club. In addition to creating the country’s first resort and urban residence clubs, Mr. Dering and DCP created the first residence clubs in Mexico, Bermuda and Florence, Italy. Mr. Dering has been a frequent presenter at national and international symposiums on fractional ownership. As a principal of DCP, Mr. Dering works with developers in evaluating potential residence club sites, conducting preliminary business discussions, assessing project feasibility, formulating club ownership parameters, and supervising club design and marketing. Steve calls Park City home where he has lived with his family for over 20 years; when you visit the Fund’s Property in Park City, you may never want to leave either.
